New Sunday Bus Service for Doddinghurst, the 228:
Posted on the 7th April 2012. A new Sunday Bus service, the 228, is being launched on the 6th May 2012. This service will operate initially for up to a year and runs from Doddinghurst (The Barn Bus Stop) through Brentwood to Herongate via the Brentwood Leisure Centre, Sainsburys, the Railway Station, Warley, Thordon Country Parks and into Herongate and back to Doddinghurst on the same route. The bus can be "hailed" and will operate in a 10.00 to 16.00 core time. For the full timetable click here .
The service is being equally funded by Doddinghurst, Herongate and Brentwood Councils for the trial period. If demand is insufficient to justify the service in the long term it will probably cease operation so if you think it is a good ideas please use it or lose it. At the time of writing the fares planned are £2.50 per adult one way and likewise £1 per child ticket. Bus passes can be used.

Doddinghurst Parish Council was re-accredited its Quality Council status in September 2011. Quality Status lasts for four years and means that the Council employs a fully qualified Clerk and that its operation, communication, and achievements have been assessed and proven as complying with national standards and entitles the council to display the Quality logo shown on this page. The Council has also adopted the "Power of Well-Being", read more about this under "Our Role".
